How to make Cystal Logo in inkscape?

Hi, Everybody,

i am attaching a crystal ubuntu logo, is it possible to replicate same thing in Inkscape. i am very new in graphic design ..if its possible please do let me know....please.... :geek:

It is possible.

Hard though, as it appears the image you linked to is a 3d render, not drawn art. The internal reflections, refractions, and caustic effects would all have to be drawn by hand...

Looks like a job for Blender 3d and a decent render engine like LUX.
